You gotta fight for your right to PARTY!

A couple of weeks ago Dave and his teacher band "The Smokin' Wieners" gave a smokin' performance at the Shorecliff's talent show. (Turn off the music below before you watch the show...)

Granny at the beach

Last Wed. I was part of a historic event...Granny going to the beach.  This may not seem very momentous, however, if you know my granny it was.  Since she has moved to California from Texas in May 2007 she has made it very clear that she does not like the beach or the ocean.  I have made it a personal goal to get granny to the beach and that day has come! My mom tricked her into going saying we were going "out and about...." being very vague about the whole thing.  When we got to the beach granny said "are we going to be HERE long?" We replied cheerfully "Just going to look for sea glass a little while."  "Well alright"  she said.  We unloaded ourselves and helped granny to the shore.  Every five minutes or so she would say something to the effect of "Well I don't know WHY we are here...I THOUGHT we were going shopping..."  However her subtle hints of displeasure faded as she scoured the rocks looking for sea glass.  She seemed to enjoy herself and we had a pleasant time together.   After a couple of hours we headed back to the house.  On our way back granny lamented "I WASTED so much time today when I COULD have been working on my dress (sowing.)"  Oh Mrs. Opposite.  I know she enjoyed herself.  She never admitted it, but the pictures tell the truth.

F-U-N

Dave is going to be a GREAT daddy. I don't know who is having more fun in this blow-up funhouse, Uncle Dave or Curren. You decide.

Sunset walks

Dave and I have been into sunset walks lately.  Its a habit I hope to continue forever.  There is something about that time of day that is soothing and calming.  I highly recommend it.  Walking and talking with your spouse or with a close friend at dusk can bring out conversations you thought you never had in you.   An added bonus is walking next to the ocean and lets face it the ocean is full of good feelings that are unleashed into people walking near it.
