Going the Distance

Some of you may not know this, but I am a member of Speed the Band. A band that was formed to create alot of anxiety and turmoil for some, and an income for others, and a life-long passion of making this world a safer place for children. Since the horrific rape and murder of Chelsea King, my dad wrote the song, "Chelsea Runs" to honor this poor girl and family, and inspire change in our laws. We were invited by the King family to perform at the event "Going the Distance" in Lake Poway to rally for Chelsea's Law yesterday. It was absolutely terrifying for some to perform in front of so many people, but we did it. And I think we did it well. I haven't actually seen any video of us, except for the news clips, but everyone said we did great. Anyways, I think its pretty amazing we pulled it off and in case I haven't already mentioned it, all proceeds of our song, Chelsea Runs, is going to the Chelsea Light Foundation to help pass Chelsea's Law. Its a great cause and only on $ .99 on iTunes.

To buy the song, go to iTunes and search for "Chelsea Runs" by Speed the Band

And here to watch another news clip with a lame commercial :)

I really love my family and love performing with them.

HaWaIi!

Next stop Hawaii! {This was the only smile the whole flight}
Horsin' off with cousins Ethan, Brent, and Lyzee in B&K's back yard.
Love everything about this picture.
I love how the boys have their arm around the girls. Although, B&E aren't quite sure about it.
Banions all around.
One day I will get to enjoy a Matsumotos. One day. {P threw up all over mine.}
Girls night out for Jenni's baby shower! Can't wait to meet little Phyllis Evelyn. {I think little Brent came up with this name.}
My sister-in-law Katie makes theses fab fabric flower garlands, which were perfect for Jenni's baby shower. You can check them out at her Etsy shop here.
LOST set. Yep, I'm obsessed.
P's first s'more. And man did she want s'more.
Lizzy came to visit for family dinner. Love her.
The Hawaii Speed clan.
Lookin' good Pattykins and Care-bare. {Makes me smile how much Pat cringes when he hears this gay nickname}
Sunrise walk on Temple beach
Surfin' with dad at Chun's
Hang ten Phoebes
The One who made it possible. . .
Celestial Baby
Hangin' with mom at Alligator Pond
Cousins Eliza-15 months, Phoebe 7 months
Got to stay with Brent and Katie again in their awesome house right on the beach, thanks guys!
...And hang with Beth, Carrie, Pat, and the John Speed Family. A few quotes to remember were "maybe we should just get a bucket of chicken" in response to what can we bring to Jenni's baby shower. "heroine, the female version of hero, not the drug". "Mary Jane, Mari-jew-ANA!!" And getting "black balled," and '3 balled" which is a term I made up when you forget to pick a card during your turn in Sequence, States & Capitals. Phoebe got sick midway through the trip with the 24 hour flu which has hit 9 people and counting. Plenty of surfing was had which was totally awesome for me since I was prego last year and couldn't go. Definitely the funnest session for me was at Castles. And Dave refused to comment which session was his favorite, but I'm pretty sure it was at Pounders on this awesome "twin-fin" fish he made.
I love Hawaii but I mostly love my family in Hawaii. Be back ASAP!!!!!!

Keeping busy.

One day I had an organizing rampage in our bathroom and was stoked with the outcome. This may be common knowledge, but grey poupon and pesto jars make excellent toiletry holders.
Not to brag, but our ward is on a major baptizing streak. We've had 8 people baptized this year already! Phoebe loves watching the dunking part.
Baby cardiyogalates is now 2 x a week and its a blast! Don't mess with these hott mamas. They are highly motivated to get those rock hard abs.
And tight buns.
The kids love it too!
A couple of weeks ago I had the best Sano session I've ever had in my entire life. It was like surfing through butter. So smooth.
And we happened to run into our dear friend Adam.
And last but not least was Jaycie's birthday on the 20th. Love that woman! She is my hero. And grandma of the year.
We celebrated by having a family jam.
P already showing an interest in music.
{Unavoidable in our household, have you seen our walls?}
And eating cupcakes.
The End.
