I showed up to my parents house wearing the exact thing my mom was. Its no wonder we are so much alike. I try to be like her in every which way. She is the one who gave me life and taught me all the things Jesus did and who He was and not only told me I should be like Him, but acted like Him. She's always given me good advice, even when I hated her for it. Never once told me I couldn't be whatever I wanted to be. I love her dearly and am stoked to become like her more and more each day, even down to our clothes. Love you forever and ever mom. Happy Mother's Day.

And what Mother's Day would be complete without breakfast in bed?

This is a special Mother's Day for me and a lot of my friends because it's our first. The greatest gift in this life, I think, is to be a mother. Nothing has brought me more joy than this hat. No other calling in life will ever exceed it. I take motherhood very seriously and hope my babies will have as good a mother as mine was and is. 'Seriously' in the sense that I have to teach them the right way to life their life by my words and example. Not 'seriously' in the sense of being 'serious' all the time. Being light hearted, fun-loving, and downright silly is a lot of who I am. But there of course is a time for being serious.
Already, I know the big spirit inside Phoebe is learning a million new things each day. She craves stimulation and learning. Even at this young I can tell she knows what I'm doing when I pray, read the scriptures, and take the sacrament. She also knows when I'm blog stalking, facebooking, or gossiping. She watches me like a hawk and its almost uncomfortable, like she's staring straight to my soul. She's always been like that. So I have to be extra careful in what I say and do. It's like she's on God's watch keeping tabs on me. I guess in the end we will all be judged on how good of parents we were. So it seems she's going to protect me from getting too far off-track. She is a complete joy and I can't wait to have a billion and one more just like her (minus the colicky first 6 months, that was brutal).
